Voluntary registration open with Disability Worker Registration Board of Victoria
Starting 1 July 2021, voluntary registration is open with the Disability Worker Registration Board of Victoria.
At the TAC, we support the standards of the Disability Worker Regulation Scheme and Victoria’s voluntary registration of disability workers.
This voluntary registration will start on 1 July 2021.
Registration aims to increase trust and confidence in the Victorian disability sector by ensuring registered workers are independently assessed as safe, skilled and professional.
To stay informed, you can access resources on the Victorian Disability Worker Commission website.
The Disability Worker Regulation Scheme applies to all disability workers in Victoria. It is administered by the Disability Worker Registration Board of Victoria and the Victorian Disability Worker Commissioner.
Last year, on 1 July 2020, the Disability Worker Regulation Scheme put into effect:
- A Code of Conduct for all disability workers in Victoria.
- A complaints service and mandatory notifications about the conduct of disability workers.
In addition to supporting the Disability Worker Regulation Scheme’s standards, the TAC continues its own processes for complaints and the reporting of abuse or neglect by a TAC funded service.
