Clarity when ordering equipment

Our updated equipment guidelines can help when you order equipment for TAC clients. See what equipment needs our approval and what items can be ordered directly from our contracted suppliers.

Our updated Equipment guidelines can help when you order equipment for TAC clients. See what equipment needs our approval and what items can be ordered directly from our contracted suppliers.

We now designate equipment as ‘basic’ or ‘specialised’. You can see an expanded list under Types of equipment in the Equipment guidelines.

Please ensure that any equipment you prescribe or supply to TAC clients is related to their transport accident, is clinically justified and supports specific recovery outcomes.

In some cases we may contact you to discuss the expected outcomes from the use of equipment items before we process invoices.

Also please remember the following:

  • Equipment items can no longer be billed through LanternPay.
  • Most equipment should be sourced through our contracted equipment suppliers for negotiated cost-effective rates.
  • Basic recreational and therapy support items such as therapy bands, massage balls, foam rollers, etc. can only be prescribed as part of a self-management plan.
  • Please do not invoice us for consumables (e.g. isopropyl alcohol wipes, taping, needles, cotton balls, rubber gloves), which should be provided as part of the consultation.
  • Allied health providers cannot prescribe vitamins and supplements to TAC clients.
