Amid this year’s challenges, we’re grateful for your efforts to ensure our clients receive the care they need. Here are three important reminders to support your work with TAC clients.

1. Telehealth as a path to recovery

As our clients face the dual challenge of recovery during a pandemic, we’ve been asking them to look after themselves by keeping regular health and medical appointments.

Thousands of clients have engaged with their providers via telehealth since we introduced temporary TAC telehealth item codes in March. We recently extended these until further notice so providers have the option of treating TAC clients face to face or through telehealth when appropriate.

2. Guidance for prompt payment

If you invoice us by email or post, please follow our invoicing requirements to help us pay you promptly and accurately.

Or see if you're eligible to invoice us online using LanternPay.

3. When to seek TAC approval

As announced in August, our approval requirements depend on whether a treatment or service is delivered within the first 90 days of the client’s accident, or after 90 days.

We can help pay for many treatments and services without the need for you to contact us for approval first. The treatment or service must be:

  • Delivered within the first 90 days of the client’s accident, and
  • On our list of approved treatments and services for new TAC clients, and
  • Recommended by a health professional, related to the client’s accident injuries and delivered in line with the TAC Clinical Framework.

After 90 days, you or the client will need to contact us for the approval of ongoing services. For mental health treatment, we can help pay for up to 6 sessions within the first 90 days.
